We are in Florianopolis, Brazil, at the house of Christina and Pedro Bass, who have followed and helped us since the beginning of our journey. Pedro is the author of our Vamumansu expedition logo. I know them for more than 20 years and in fact I know Christina since we used to work at the Rio de Janeiro Airport, she at Lufthansa and me at Varig. I was 19...

Gildo is still in Buenos Aires where he arrived under very precarious conditions, since his bike broke down, resulting from the noise originated in Bolivia. His transmition finally gave up. He will have the bike repaired and ready to go next Tuesday, but it will be too late for us to arrive together in Rio de Janeiro, since I have to be back as soon as possible to Miami, because my daughter Melissa and her husband are leaving to Bogotá on vacation. Later I will post pictures of the BBQ the Bass family is preparing for us

Dear Homero,

it seems that your adventure is coming to an end. I believe you will never forget all these impressions and experiences. I really must say, I was very much impressed, but never would have dared to do such a tour -by the way I don't have the money nor the time to do so ;-)

I tried to follow your journey as often as I could and always was very curious to find your news or photos ...

These days you talked about Monica. This was a very big surprise, but I'm glad to see you're happy again - I must say, you two do look very happy!! Life is just too short to waste it. It was very hard to see this, when Bruni passed away, but I'm sure she wanted you to be happy again... I hope you will enjoy life at its best!

Wishing you all luck, love and happiness

Christiane

Hope to hear from you soon
